Date: Wednesday 2 December 2020, 6.30pm-7.30pm AEDT
Assessment is one of the important key components of any nursing practice. The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia provide Registered Nurse (RN) standards for practice requiring the RN to conduct a comprehensive and systematic nursing assessment and respond effectively to unexpected or rapidly changing situations.
This webinar has been developed for practice nurses, but also provides a valuable update for other health professionals working in small teams or isolated practices who may be faced with managing a cardiac presentation with limited assistance until emergency support arrives
In the course of the one-hour webinar, you will be provided with a comprehensive approach for cardiac assessment, beginning with a head to toe assessment and progressing to primary and secondary survey. You will also learn how to recognise cardiac ischaemia and arrythmias and apply best practice oxygen therapy guidelines. In addition, the webinar will provide an overview of pathways for cardiac care; pain assessment and medication management so that you can achieve the best outcomes for your patient experiencing a cardiac episode.
